Snowmobile Safety / Education
Each year the Susquehanna County Snowmobilers’ Association holds a SNOWMOBILE SAFETY COURSE as part of its mission of education and safety. This NO COST certification course is usually held in early December. The course is 8 hours long, breakfast and lunch are provided and is held at the New Milford Rifle and Pistol Club on Franklin Hill Rd/Steam Hollow Rd in New Milford. Although we focus on youth riders, this free course is open to everyone to attend. Many parents report learning a great deal and are glad they attended as well.
Our next scheduled class will be on December 11th, limited class size. Call our instructor Brian Cobb to reserve your spot at the next class (570) 396-7227
Youth safety and training
Each year, hundreds of youth are involved in snowmobile accidents, some resulting in death.
While riding these vehicles is fun, it also can be very dangerous. Because of a child’s leg and arm length, hand size, and strength, it is often difficult for children to properly control an adult-sized vehicle.
