Landowners / Snowmobile laws, Rules and Regulations

The Susquehanna County Snowmobilers' Association (SCSA) thanks all of the landowners across the county who are gracious enough to allow snowmobile trails across their property. Obviously without your generosity there would be no SCSA snowmobile trail system for our members to enjoy. The SCSA trail system is 99% dependent upon landowner participation and thanks to active involvement such as yours we have been able to sustain many miles of wonderful trails. We truly appreciate the opportunity you have extended to SCSA by allowing us to establish a snowmobile trail across your land.
As a participating landowner you are afforded several protections, both from the club and with legislation. SCSA maintains a comprehensive liability insurance policy to protect its members and landowners from injury or damage. A copy of this policy can be provided to you at any time and if you would like to be named on the policy just drop us a line. From a legal standpoint you are protected from civil liability via the Recreational Use of Land and Water Act. Feel free to review that legislation under the "Landowner" tab at the top of this page.
Each year SCSA strives to maintain contact with the landowners who allow our trails to be on their property but sometimes we lose touch, property changes hands or maybe there has been some construction or trail change requests you may have. If you feel as though you may be in one of these categories we really need to here from you. Please contact us to discuss and be placed on our contact list so that we can stay in touch.
Please take your time browsing through our site. We hope that you will find a lot of useful information and answers to any of your questions. If you have any unanswered questions, or better yet you are a landowner that would like to offer the SCSA to establish a trail across your land, please feel free to contact us via any of the means offered on the Contact Us section of our site.
Be assured that it is the policy of SCSA to strongly encourage our members to be respectful to landowners and show respect for their property, stay on the marked trails, carry in/carry out and abide by the private landowners wishes and special needs concerning recreational areas.
We hope that it never happens, but if you should encounter any problems or concerns with existing snowmobile trails on your property please feel free to email or message us on facebook for a quick response.
